let it snow

New York City is still covered in snow, even though I missed the actual blizzard as I was trapped in the Midwest unable to get home.

There are these things that happen in NYC, the events that connect us and make us more strongly a part of the same place or time. And that’s when I cannot imagine living anywhere else in the world.

I have to admit that I am actually happy I lucked into a return flight on Tuesday morning for more reasons than simply getting back to work and snuggling the kitty I had missed terribly. A third reason is that I wanted to be here, to be in the city experiencing it along with all the others.

And climbing over banks of snow the last few days has made me feel strangely comforted. It’s made me feel part of something that will be remember for a long, long time. It’s amazing how we bond together in moments of extremes- both the good and the bad.

I’m off to lace up my boots but I promise to return to “regularly scheduled programming” soon. I have much to share and discuss.

Be safe out there,

Louise
